Self-Centered Women: A Vital Support for Self-Care

In one week, ReConnectEd to Life will begin Self-Centered Women: Journey Within 2019. This group is dear to my heart because I was a participant in a similar group back in 2017 that changed my life forever. It was that year-long process that facilitated my discovering what I wanted for my one and only precious life, and offered the tools to map out those goals into an achievable reality. The experience also came with the blessing of having like-minded women wanting the same success for themselves in their own lives, and the honor of being able to support one another. We live in a society where we are often in competition over who mothers better or who volunteers the most, but this group offers a refreshing break from that mentality. When women are understood and encouraged by other women, a unique energy is available to us that serves to strengthen our abilities to achieve personal goals, foster more meaningful relationships, and connect with our community in new and exciting ways.

"If you're searching for the one person who will change your life, take a look in the mirror."- Jennifer Rosater

We will meet on a 90 minute to 2 hour phone call once a month for the entire year. We will begin by taking stock of any imbalances in specific areas of our lives, and individually identifying particular areas that you choose to improve. You will learn to do a time audit, where you become conscious of how much time you have versus how much time is actually wasted. Each month will have a focused theme that we will relate to our group discussions, introspective activities, and creative projects. In short, you will decide the course of your year based on what matters to you most, and you will be a support to other women doing the same. You will face yourself, and learn all the ways you might be holding back from sharing with the world the greatness you have within simply based on thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes that can shape a negative perception of reality and prevent you from being your best you.

I know you are all capable of doing everything yourself- but you shouldn't have to bear the mental weight of being so damn capable, and now, you don't have to. Commit yourself to a year's worth of self-improvement through engaging with and supporting women who are all going through a version of surprisingly similar circumstances. Invest in the only true things you are capable of changing and controlling- your own thoughts, feelings, and actions. Make 2019 your best year yet and lay the foundation for all the rest to come to be better than the last!

With love and gratitude,

Kinda and Rachel
